Bringing Light to Wildfire-Affected Families

On Feb 7, 2025, TORCHSTAR partnered with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity to support wildfire relief efforts by donating over 2,000 high-quality lighting products including LED bulbs, emergency lighting, recessed can lights, outdoor security lighting to families affected by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Team members Crescent, Steven, and Abram personally delivered the supplies, ensuring they reached those in need.

The Critical Role of Lighting

Wildfires leave lasting devastation, displacing families and damaging essential infrastructure. One of the most overlooked yet crucial aspects of community rebuilding after a wildfire is proper lighting. Adequate lighting solutions in post-disaster efforts enhance safety, reduce accidental injuries, and provide emotional comfort in an uncertain time.

TORCHSTAR’s donation ensures that families have reliable home lighting solutions as they begin to rebuild their homes and lives. Weather-resistant LED lights are especially important in these environments, offering long-lasting performance in outdoor and temporary housing setups.

“These disaster recovery lights aren’t just about visibility; they’re about creating safe, livable environments where families can start fresh,” said Steven, a TORCHSTAR team member who was present during the donation event. “When homes are well-lit, they reduce hazards, improve security, and help restore a sense of normalcy.”

The TORCHSTAR Team: Dedication Beyond Products

Our team played an active role in ensuring a smooth donation process. Crescent, our photographer captured powerful images that highlight the resilience of families recovering from disaster, the experience was deeply personal. “Seeing the smiles on the faces of families who received our lighting products reminded me why we do what we do,” she shared. “It’s about more than just light - it’s about hope.” Steven and Abram worked alongside San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, helping transport supplies and coordinate logistics.

“As a team, we at TORCHSTAR are honored to contribute to wildfire donation charity programs,” said Abram. “Lighting is a fundamental part of rebuilding efforts - it allows families to move back into their homes safely, prevents accidents, and improves overall well-being.”

Partnering for a Brighter Future

San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity has been a driving force in community rebuilding after wildfires, providing thousands of families with essential resources. Their team emphasized how vital TORCHSTAR’s emergency lighting solutions are to their rebuilding efforts.

“The lighting products provided by TORCHSTAR will make an immediate difference in the homes we are working on,” said a San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity representative. “Good lighting improves safety, security, and comfort, all of which are crucial for families transitioning back into their homes.”
